    Exception during installation

      Having trouble installing 16.7.3

       

      Tried to do so through AMD control center, or however it is called - that little thing always skulking about in buffer - it just crashed.

      Tried to do so through autodetectutility.exe - it fails to donwload driver and opens newsletter signup twice, thanking for using it.

      Tried to download and instal manually, it gives me a following message (why does it require an internet connection anyway?):

       

      "An exception occured! Type:RuntimeException, Message:The primary document entity could not be opened. Id="

       

      Clicking OK gives the following message:

       

      "No installable components. Contact AMD for assistance"

       

       

      Found the guy with similar problem on forums, he was adviced to nuke old drivers with DDU and install 16.7.3 again.

      Tried that as well - same result.

          Specifications:

           

          Graphic card: Radeon HD 7xxx Series PCIe

          Desktop

          Win 7 x64

          Driver installation installed: none currently

          Display devices: old benq. No idea what's the model, honestly.

          Motherboard: Gygabyte, GA-990XA-UD3

          CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 645, 3100 Mhz, 4 cores

          Power supply: Coguar power supply, no idea which - if deemed relevant will check

          RAM: 8 GB

              Hello,

               

              according to your error message it seems to have a problem with at least one of the MS Visual C++ Redistributable packages. Maybe you can find a little bit more information in the Windows event log (Application).

                  The program or feature "\??\C:\AMD\Packages\Apps\non-whql-win7-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-16.9.2-sep16.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatibity with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available.

                   

                  Event log provides that on attempt to install the new driver through that radeon control something-something.

                  What I am looking for exactly again?
