I can't find specific technical info on what cabling options are supported with the new generation of HDMI only freesync monitors, and if they can be connected to displayport socketed cards using a displayport to HDMI cable, and if that type of connection will retain Freesync capability? Given this technology is quite recent there aren't many examples online of it being setup.
Ultimately what I'm hoping to configure is an RX480 card to three LG 23MP68VQ monitors (which are freesync compatible, but only provide an HDM connection) therefore some of the feeds will need to come from a displayport on the graphics card, and I'm not sure if I'll lose freesync or not on those connections, or DP - HDMI leads would preserve the relevant protocols?
I'd appreciate any advice on what's possible!
FreeSync is available and can work over Passive dongles, DP - HDMI. Active dongles require both the display and the dongle firmware to support FreeSync.
