Free antivirus pays off: Avast buys AVG for $1.3 billion | PCWorld
What's your opinion of Avast? I've never used them.
I had Avast in the past....deleted it. Constant issues. High maintenance. Constant spamming trying to get me back...still. Panda is free and better than both of them...IMO.
I just use Microsoft Security Essentials myself, along with Spybot and Malwarebytes. Viruses I'm not really worried about, easy enough to revert back to a clean system image (I make a full one every week and differential one every day), malware's where the real danger's at, and between NoScript and some common sense, it's easy enough to avoid that
Thats a shame, i liked AVG until there software started bugging out about 3 years ago.
Ive tried out Avast Secure Line only didnt like it, i felt naked. Compared to Avira , Avira won.
outof the 20 security solutions i know of that work, i found KasperSky good enough. Russian made.
But when it comes to free i chose what wasnt, Panda, no one ever remebers those guys, and there was a guy's old lady working out of IT in Va that only ran that through special Panada online software, been meaning to look into that or if that even exists anymore. The online only version i mean.
Yes Panda has been around awhile. It now is cloud based with a very small computer footprint. Takes up very little resources. And does a A+ job. I use this and Malwarebytes Pro.
