Embedded Linux Driver Support

Question asked by bryceschober on Jun 29, 2016

The AMD Catalyst Embedded Driver version 15.101.1007 is the most recent version that claims to support the G-Series APU (FT1). The next newer version 15.201.1701 no longer lists G-Series APU support. Will that version of the driver actually no longer work on a G-Series APU for any known reason? Or was it simply dropped from regular regression testing?

Also, what makes the embedded catalyst drivers different from the desktop drivers? They seem to be very similar, and have essentially the same PCI IDs listed. For example, the embedded 15.101.1007 driver is very similar to the desktop 15.5 (internally 15.101.1001) driver? What trade-offs are there between the two?
