I'm Unable to update drivers without getting a blue screen (Not BSOD blue screen) Radeon HD 7800 Win 7 - 64

Question asked by maksimus on Jun 27, 2016

Hello,

System crashed and came up with a black screen, I was unable to reboot without getting a black screen. I ran recovery on the system and rolled back to a previous version with no luck still a black screen.  I uninstalled old AMD Radeon Drivers using the amdcleanuputility, I used this due to being unable to uninstall through programs and features in the control panel. I also used DDU. I downloaded through auto detect radeon-crimson-16.3.2-minimalsetup_web and after rebooting the screen came up blue with lines (not BSOD) the system then rebooted, same problem kept coming back.

I then downloaded three drivers and tried each one individually;

radeon-crimson-16.3.2-minimalsetup_web - failed with errors.

radeon-crimson-16.3.2-with-dotnet45-win7-64bit - was able to install however it will boot up and run into blue screen (Not BSOD)

non-whql-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-16.6.1-win10-win8.1-win7-june2 - was able to install however it will boot up and run into blue screen (not BSOD)

The only way the system would run after the recovery was using VGA.
