The LG 29UM58 | LG Electronics HK_EN and the LG 29UM58-P are not the LG 29UM58A, and as far as I can tell the LG 29UM58A does not exist (amdmatt see if this is a typo.) The LG 29UM68-P: 29 Class 21:9 UltraWide® Full HD IPS LED Monitor (29 Diagonal) | LG USA supports Freesync though. Either way, your monitor should display the model name, not "LG ULTRAWIDE", so make sure you installed your monitor's drivers.
Just got a reply from LG customer service.
Hopefully there is an update that actually lets this monitor support FreeSync.
Otherwise, take it down from the FreeSync support page to prevent misleading future buyers.
All LG monitors are compatible to any operating system and any computer since it’s a plug and play device. Our monitor doesn’t have any drive; all new and old monitors are plug and play will never require using a driver for it to work.
Apparently, model 29UM58-P is does not have the Freesync feature.
The 29UM58P is not on the list.
Hi, did you get it to work?
This is the only 2560x1080 monitor in my country (Philippines) that has FreeSync (or potentially has in this case). There are no GSync alternatives either. I really hope there's a way FreeSync can be enabled on this monitor. I can't stand playing with screen tearing and/or vsync.
Hi All, i was having the same issue. In the end for me i had to go into the LG on screen control program. Once there there was a setting for freesync that was toggled as off. Once i clicked this as on the AMD panel showed Freesync as active.
Hopefully that helps someone!
