HD 7990  freezes with every Crimson driver to date

I have been using 15.11.1 Beta Catalyst driver with no issues past 6 months. Due new game release and lack of Crossfire profiles, I have installed latest Crimson 16.6.1 driver.

It loads fine to desktop, I am able to use operate in Windows as usual, as well as surfing the web. However as soon as I start any 3D application, game or video benchmark - view in the monitor freezes, computer locks-up, ctrl+alt+del or other combinations do not work, GPU fans continue blowing.

I have backtracked from 16.6.1 all the way through every Crimson driver revision back to 16.3.2 and the same problem persists every time.

      Some examples:

3DMark firestrike 1.1. - starts the app normally, loads system info, starts loading the test upon clickin Run and crashes right there.

Tomb Raider (2013) - loads the game and either crashes right after initial screen (various advertisements such as AMD gaming evolved etc) or loads the main menu and freezes as soon as I click "benchmark".

I have tried turning off ULPS, tried putting fans on manual at 90%, but nothing helped.

Returning to 15.11.1 driver works with no glitches.

      Please advice.
