Display driver stopped responding and has recovered.

Hello, so for about a week I've started getting this error "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered." Happens mostly in LOL, pretty much every match now, but also in WOW and other games. It works fine and then suddenly it freezes for 3 seconds, the monitors go black for 1 and I get the message and the game most of the times crashes(remains in the taskbar but I must close it).

I tried pretty much everything I could find online. Using the latest drivers, using older drivers, clean uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, the TdrDelay 8-10 file in the registry but that only changed the error from that to "application has been blocked from graphics hardware". Should I try overclocking/underclocking the GPU from the radeon settings manager?

My specs:

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280x 3 GB 284 bit

PSU: 650W

CPU: AMD FX-8320

8 GB RAM

Windows 10 64 bit

I have seen many people with this problem, is it a driver/windows 10 update compatibility/driver failure? Or can it be GPU hardware related?

Thanks a lot, let me know if you have any other suggestions.
