Installing GPU drivers kills my graphics

    ndrsn

      Hey everyone,

some days ago my screen just went black as soon as my PC was finished with booting and I thought my GPU stopped working. I bought a new one and had the same problem.

After some testing I found out that this always happens, whenever I install the AMD drivers (via Catalyst). Everything's working "fine" (graphics without proper drivers are not quite nice) until I install the drivers, then the screen just goes black and it won't work again until I completely reinstall Windows.

Tried it both on Windows 10 and Windows 7 with both a Radeon HD 6850 and a Radeon R9 380.

      Other hardware specs:

      Mainboard: ASUS P8P67 Rev 3

      CPU: Intel i5 2500K

      PSU: beQuiet! DarkPower 750 W

      RAM: 4x2GB DDR3

What can I do to fix this problem? I would really like to use my GPU to its fullest potential, but whenever I install the drivers I have to completely reinstall my entire OS and format my drives or I won't be able to see anything on my screen.
