AMD can you please fix this issue, every time a GPU update is installed all my 60+ desktop icons get all put on the left side of my screen, so annoying I have to re sort them each update.
I would venture to say this is normal behavior. My guess is, when the old driver is removed, the display temporarily changes resolutions. This causes the icons to move around and self align in order to accommodate the new screen res.
As a workaround I've been using this nifty trick to save my icon layouts for years: http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/save-and-restore-desktop-icon-layout/
There's also several free(and paid) programs that can do this. The best program that comes to mind is Fences. Its only $10 but it can take snapshots of your layout and you can revert anytime. It also has some handy tools for organizing icons, folders, and etc.
I hope this helps you out.
Windows auto align/themes/custom desktop settings ?.
Whoa, that is a lot of icons, have you considered putting and sorting the icons in folders so your desktop is not crammed with icons? just a tip.
it is a lot of icons but I am running 28" at 4k
Okay, then 60+ icons won't look cramped.
you should not need a 3rd party program to do this, the update should remember how they were placed to start with and then put them back the same way.
Merely a suggestion. Third party programs wouldn't exist if they remembered your settings.
