Your PC specs are just overpowered for witcher2, meaning the game will run probably at too high fps to be stable.. did you researched if there is a max amount FPS aceptable by the game engine for multi-gpu?
Try at 60fps
Thanks for the reply. I always limit my fps to 90 (freesync range) to limit heat & power consumption, even though my monitor can do 144hz.
I tried 30, 60, 90 & no v-sync to no avail. This issue must be new because it wasn't apparent on my old 7990, I remember getting 60-100 fps. I googled before I posted here. Only one single search hit from last year, another crossfire issue, exactly like mine but without any fix.
Can anyone here who owns Witcher 2 gives the crossfire profile a try & report here?
Turning on crossfire will cause a display driver crash every couple of seconds. The screen will flash black for 2 seconds, display the driver error, then return to the game, loading textures & assets onscreen.
Just chiming in.
Windows 10 Pro x64
Nitro RX 480 CF
Game installed on SSD
On Drivers 16.9.1, Display Drivers were crashing very often.
Installed 16.8.3, Able to play but whenever a mob is stunned and Geralt goes in for the auto(?) finisher, fps drops to single digits and then a second later display drivers crash and don't reset(same happened on 16.9.1 Hotfix)
Luckily for you you don't need to hard-reset. my display never comes back, even after waiting 40mins.
Are you on a Multimonitor setup or Single? (even if other monitor is off, is it plugged in?)
Game worked perfectly fine on my GTX 980ti
Large Texture Size ( Setting this to Ultra causes NPC dialogue cut-scenes to stutter <20fps)
Motion Blur, Vingette, Ubersampling OFF
