Ongoing issue, and I apologize in advance if I let my frustrations show.

Synopsis: Games keep crashing in Win 10. Never had any problems with this prior to upgrading to Windows 10. These problems seem to happen primarily in games although I have occasional Firefox crashes as well.

System Specs: This is an older system, but it's been pretty solid otherwise.

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

CPU: AMD FX-6100

RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz (9-9-9-24)

Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. M5A97 (Socket 942)

Graphics: 3072MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series (specifically, Sapphire 7970)

Errors: None from the games themselves, they just either freeze or close unexpectedly.

From event viewer: Usually as follows:

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x00b84a9e

Fault Module Name: atidxx32.dll

Troubleshooting performed:

--Reinstallation of Windows.

--Games have (of course) been reinstalled following the windows reinstall.

--Full reinstall of AMD drivers (cleaned out the old drivers and remnants for all AMD devices, reinstalled using latest. Specific driver versions don't seem to matter, I've tried multiple).

--Mobo drivers and BIOS up to date (such as it is with an older mobo)

--Extended memory test (8 full passes) show no memory issues.

--SFC shows no issues

--Registry scan shows no issues.

--DxDiag shows no issues

--Power and temp monitoring indicate no issues with either.

This problem has persisted over multiple Windows and game re-installations and updates.

I'm seriously about at wit's end here.
