I thought I would hear the release date during the live report last night....
They're already available. The HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop (15.6") | HP® Official Store has the top model, the FX-9800P.
Not laptop, Desktop~
Bristol Ridge are mobility chips, not desktop, Socket FP4.
HP once again has a month's advantage on new AMD laptop APUs. Expect other brands to be offering Gen 7 AMD APU powered laptops in the next few months depending on how fast they can ramp new product. Seeing as though back-to-school sales are important to all suppliers, they will desire to make the new laptops available A.S.A.P.
With the major improvement in Gen 7 CPU processor frequency, AMD laptop performance should be significantly higher than Carrizo. The only unknown is if laptop makers will once again castrate AMD's 7th Gen APUs to provide longer battery life at the expense of proper APU performance. If they do, sales will be minimal which is unfortunate for all involved. Anandtech has written a pretty thorough analysis of the incompetence of laptop makers in failing to provide the models of AMD laptops that consumers desire. AMD as well as consumers lose when laptop makers focus on battery life instead of providing good screen resolutions, SSDs, full performance capable APUs, etc.. Then they wonder why sales are low. They simply refused to provide what the market wants to purchase.
My question has nothing to do with laptops!
There is a 28nm processor with Zin type architecture that will available for desktop.
I spoke with Carlos at AMD today but he did not know when it would be released and asked my to call back next week for an update.

Again, Bristol Ridge and Stony Bridge are the codenames for mobile Excavator based APUs optimized for a 20% performance increase over Carrizo until their successor with Zen CPU cores are released in 2017.
AGAIN? Good grief
I don't believe that AMD has stated when desktop Bristol Ridge model APUs will ship. I would guess however that they won't be far behind the laptop versions. It was reported that mobo makers were expected to start selling AM4 mobos this month, June).
