What does this mean? Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6811&SUBSYS_2015174B&REV_81\4&2d78ab8f&0&0008 requires further installation. Should I uninstall the driver and reinstall?
Hard to suggest anything with no information:

I went into properties of this card to check drivers and found this Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6811&SUBSYS_2015174B&REV_81\4&2d78ab8f&0&0008 requires further installation.
You need to perform a clean install of your drivers. Please try the steps below to see if it resolves the issue.
1. Use DDU to sweep the system of AMD drivers.
2. Install the latest Crimson 16.5.3 drivers once the above is completed.
That didn't work either. I did it in safe mode, then disabled my anti virus and firewall and then install and get the same message
Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6811&SUBSYS_2015174B&REV_81\4&2d78ab8f&0&0008 requires further installation.
Another thing I noticed, there is no way to adjust brightness, gamma, contrast, etc.
Try this to remove any uninstalled software from previous graphics card > Uninstall Hidden Devices, Drivers, and Services
there was no other graphics card, I had a new MB, graphics card, RAM and CPU just put about 1 week ago.
Did you install the OS new after making all the upgrades...or did you use a image from the previous set-up?
Hard drive was formatted and installed windows 10 clean install. Even using that driver cleaner, would there still be some amd stuff in the registry?
It doesn't hurt to try...what have you to lose?
A clean install must be done in order...not skipping steps. This will check the registry. The hidden drivers are worth checking.
Clean Install AMD Graphics Drivers
no that didn't work either and I didn't install the raptor and that vulkan rt, whatever that is. Is this message a problem or could I just let it be? What does it mean?
If its causing no problems...don't worry.
Isn't there a brightness, gamma, contrast, etc. settings on this driver version?
That display doesn't come up for me.....so I bet that the error.
Open "Preferences" and choose "Radeon Additional Settings" then go have a smoke or Dr.Pepper. When you come back it may be up. It's slow.
I went back to version 16.15 and I have the display thing now. Here's what the message I get is:
Driver Management concluded the process to install driver c0301173.inf_amd64_36dc3901d12724e3\c0301173.inf for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6811&SUBSYS_2015174B&REV_81\4&2D78AB8F&0&0008 with the following status: 0x0
You have any idea what that means? I never had a problem like that before installing a driver. I'm getting more RAM in a couple of days so when I have the case open I'm going to pull out the card and put it back in again, I didn't put it in the tech guy did but that doesn't mean it might need a little adjustment.
I just tried it again and went into device manager and it said microsoft basic display and the same error. you think maybe take the card out and set it back in would do anything
Check Device Manager and make sure your monitor and display adapters are not showing as disabled. If they are, enable them and try again.
everything is as it should be
