as the title asks....

Why I'm asking:

I run a Crossover 32" 2560x1440 @60hz native resolution... I had the flickering in firefox youtube player window for months, and when I close programs i got a small glirch for a fraction of a second, to the point I was disgusted...

middle of last week I overclocked my monitor to 75hz... Yesterday evening and Today for the first time since I overclocked my monitor I've watched youtube in firefox the entire time, so far I have not gotten any glitching in firefox/youtube and I'm also not getting the glitching when I close programs..

Anyone have any idea why overclocking the monitor would help?  I'm thinking it might be because enough stress being put on the gpu and it not throttling to as low as it was maybe, I dont know but whatever the overclcoking of the monitor did, it helped immensely.
