Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Pascal Performance Review

Can't link the graphics, TomsHardware uses applets instead of straight images these days. Now, you might be wondering why I am posting this, and the reason is because for the next while the GTX 1070 is going to be nVidia's most midrange oriented new card, even though it is lower high end because they chose to start there, while AMD is focusing on the meat of the market, the midrange. Now, the GTX 1070 is going to retail for around $380 for OEM custom versions, while Polaris 10 will bring "390X levels of performance for less than $300" (at $299). You're only talking about a 21% price premium for 40% higher performance. Even in the midrange market where dollars matter, $80 isn't that big of a difference when you're talking about a large performance gap. Now, Polaris will be officially unveiled in 3 days or so, and we'll get to see the real performance figures, as well as the price figures, but as it stands, $300 for Polaris isn't going to cut it, and that can only mean one thing:
