    290x black screen

Evening, i have a shiny HIS 290x here and it's being a bit weird. It worked fine for a week when i got it then it started Black screening shortly after boot. Basically it worked then black screened. No problem i'll reboot. then it black screened faster, until eventually its black screening a few seconds after log on. that time i fixed it i plugged it into 2 rails (it was in the 2 that come out the PSU.) it worked for a week then started doing it again. and now i'm stuck. i added .1v to the VSSCC(?) control L3 cache memory and PCIe. that didn't help. used the CMOS. used DDU a couple times (The card works fine without drivers from what i can tell, which leads me to think its a driver problem.) I've done the Afterburner +10% power stuff. That didn't help. I've been looking around for an AMD log of some sort and i can't find one. Also updated my BIOS and reinstalled windows.

"The amdacpksd service failed to start due to the following error:

A device attached to the system is not functioning."

this is the usual error i get or:

"Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered." (This one is rare and really it doesn't recover either)

      HIS 290x

      750w Antec High current pro

      i5 4690k

      Ripjawz 8 gb ram.

GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD3H (Not sure of the BIOS version)

      Driver Version: 16.3.2

If there is anything else i can provide let me know because i would love to have this fixed.

Please try the steps below to see if it resolves the issue.

          1. Run the Windows self check tool to check scan and automatically repair any corrupt files found in Windows. There is a guide on how to do it here.  What you need to do is run an elevated command prompt (elevated means run it as administrator) and type SFC /SCANNOW. This will generate a statement indicating if errors were found the Operating system and if they were fixable.

          2. Make sure you have installed Microsfot NetFramework and Visual C++ 2013. These should be installed already, but they can become damaged, need repairing or reinstalling.

          3. Update Windows. Install all available critical, recommended and optional updates. Often Netframework and Visual C are included in the recommended or optional updates Windows provides. Windows should always be fully up to date before installing our drivers!

          4. Use DDU to sweep the system of AMD drivers.

          5. Install the latest Crimson 16.5.3 drivers once the above is completed.
