a couple services running in background, what are they for?
One is Adaptive Sleep Service the other is External Events Utility.. One or both uses bandwidth, my banner ads in radeon settings is set to off..
The service is using a tiny amount of bandwidth to check for driver updates.
ok, thanks Ray.. I disabled both and didnt see any negative effects so I'll just leave them disabled.
Last time I looked up the external events, it was for hotkeys.
Ray_m said one of the services sends a small amount of data for driver updates..
I disabled both and it doesnt seem to affect anything..
On my win 10 system, I just discovered that Steam, Origin, and Uplay clients all launch much slower without the external events utility service running. I spent a lot of time troubleshooting it too. I had just messed with permanently disabling cortana at the same time that I set this service to manual, and I thought I messed something up pretty bad in windows with the cortana changes.
It takes maybe 2 seconds for my machine to load those. I'm running win10pro, cortana disabled, and any microsoft app uninstalled that I wont ever use.
I have many games installed, and I think it's a game profile thing.
