    Connecting AMD graphics

    colonius

      Hello,

I have just installed the latest driver 16.5.2.1 on my Winows 10 system. When I want to enter the settings I'm told that "Radeon settings not available. Try again after connecting AMD graphis".

Please let me know what I have to do. Thanks a lot.

      Cheers,

      Martin

Please try the steps below to see if it resolves the issue.

          1. Run the Windows self check tool to check scan and automatically repair any corrupt files found in Windows. There is a guide on how to do it here.  What you need to do is run an elevated command prompt (elevated means run it as administrator) and type SFC /SCANNOW. This will generate a statement indicating if errors were found the Operating system and if they were fixable.

          2. Make sure you have installed Microsfot NetFramework and Visual C++ 2013. These should be installed already, but they can become damaged, need repairing or reinstalling.

          3. Update Windows. Install all available critical, recommended and optional updates. Often Netframework and Visual C are included in the recommended or optional updates Windows provides. Windows should always be fully up to date before installing our drivers!

          4. Use DDU to sweep the system of AMD drivers.

          5. Install the latest Crimson 16.5.2.1 drivers once the above is completed.

If the above resolves your issue, then i suspect it's that you did not properly uninstall the Windows Update AMD driver before updating to 16.5.2.1. This is mentioned in the Known Issues section of the release notes.

          • Radeon Settings Additional Settings page may not be available when upgrading to Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.5.2.1 from the current windows update driver. As a work around please clean uninstall all current Radeon Software when upgrading if your system exhibits this issue.

            Hello Matt,

I'm ashamed to say but I found the problem: I had connected the cable for the monitor in the mainboard and not in the Graphic card. I put it into the graphic card and everything is perfect now. Sorry for this big mistake and thanks again for your help.

            Cheers,

            Martin

I had the same question just 5 minutes ago.  I unknowingly had a BIOS update or something from Dell (my computer manufacturer) and after I ran it, my problem was solved. Hope this helps: )
