I have a XFX R9 390x Black edition GPU and i was wondering since my black edition doesn't have the Crossfire hookup if two of them would still link VIA DX12
From what I know the crossfire is via software, there is no need for the bridge. So you just can hook up another 390x and you will be ready to go, just be sure that your PSU can handle such power comsumption. Here is an articule about the R9 390x performance on crossfire (It is old BTW).
AMD Radeon R9 390X in CrossFire at 4K
the troll is real..
teckem you are correct that no bridge is needed but crossfire is being handled by XDMA shown here Modernizing multi-GPU gaming with XDMA . This solution is a hardware solution (not a software) that works over PCIE lanes.
xxjoker21xx two of those cards would work via DX9, DX10, DX11, or DX12 as long as the game you are using supports crossfire/multiGPU.
i think i have the PSU covered i run a Couger 1000CMX 80+ Certified
That's just awesome, it means you are ready to go.
Yup all I need now is another R9-390x
