Display driver not installing, claims I'm not administrator

    drembastid

Hello, I am currently trying to install Crimson Software 16.5.2.1. However, it does not complete installation. When looking at the install log, the display drivers will not install. When clicking on "fail" it brings me to warning notes saying that I need to be logged in as Administrator. This is disconcerting due to the fact that I AM LOGGED IN as an administrator. I'm logged into the account I set this computer up. This is extremely aggravating because I'm trying to play Forza Motorsport 6 Apex and it prevents me from doing so, upgrading from 16.3.

Now however, my drivers aren't working at all and Crimson refuses to run, and I can't play any of my games. Please direct me to fix. Thank you.

      Here is the install log:

Can you try right clicking the installer and selecting run as Admin?

I was able to update the display drivers for each gpu manually in Windows Device Manager to 16.200, however Radeon Settings will not launch, saying "Radeon Settings currently not available. Please try again after connecting AMD graphics."

                This is getting pretty silly.

Well, it seems my current games still run, Witcher 3 @ 60fps in ultra no problem. So, my urgency for this fix just went down, however I'd still like to play Forza 6 Apex and I'm not sure if I lost my clock settings with this. As long as Witcher 3 runs well, I don't really care but I would still like this resolved. Thank you.

I understand, I'll need to investigate further as i have never seen this behaviour before.

Can you attach a Belarc report to your response?

Belarc - Go to www.belarc.com/free_download.html and download/install/run the Free Belarc Advisor. This will generate an HTML report on your system, to be saved through "File->Save As" in your browser as report.html

                                Hi Matt,

I am having the same issue now with 16.11.2.

Been having this problem for quite a while now and I got a bit fed up by it and the lack of support from AMD!

My graphics is MSI R9 280x Twin Frozr and when 16.9.2 was released I wanted to update to it but it did not install.

I uninstalled the driver completely (DDU) and installed it again - still same issue.

Now 16.11.2 is out and I hoped that I will be lucky as my Mafia 3 is not playable and once again - same error.

Can someone please help me sort this out?

I have now downloaded the driver and ran it as administrator but still same error.
