Is there any update for R9 380 troubles?
Same question here, any answer from AMD reps?
If you get a response from AMD could you update this post? My R9 380 is having tons of issues with DOOM.
I would also like to know this. Not about DOOM specifically as I don't play it, but generally issues with display driver crashes. R9 380 has been nothing but a painful experience ever since I bought it in November last year. It's more stable than it was (oh, the fun I had with Crimson 15.11 drivers, crashing left, right and center just with Firefox open) but I'd still like to be able to play games without constant crashes.
- Counter-Strike™: Global Offensive fails to stretch on non-native display aspect ratios. As part of the new Display Scaling per game feature, users can set “GPU Scaling” to “On” and “Scaling Mode” to “Full Panel” in the Display options tab in Radeon™ Settings as well as setting “Display Scaling” to “Full Panel” in their CSGO gaming profile under the “Gaming, Profile Options” tabs for this to take effect.
I wish that they would fix this for all games and not just CSGO. I have to make custom resolutions for stretch to full panel width to work, and turn off gpu scaling, because gpu scaling has never worked for me. I made several bug reports about it, but have given up.
Hello, is it possible to clean install this driver without installing a prior one first? If no, which driver must be installed first in order to "activate" this? I have tried to freshly install this one. I receive an error message when installing 1 of only 4 components. all of my previous installs had 10+ components.......ty....
win 7 64bit
amd a6 3400m
Looks like it should be a full standalone driver package. You should not need any other previous drivers.
Although there is this note on the driver page that I think applies to you. I think you need to use 16.3.2 for your APU:
AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition Hotfix drivers are compatible with AMD Discrete graphics products.
If you have one of the following APU products please use Radeon Software Crimson Edition 15.12
For all other APU products please use AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.3.2.
After running the windows registry repair during startup after DDU in safemode i don't have errors when trying to install and all the components show in the installer. I managed all components but the steady video plugin.... Will my devices never be updated again or can i install the 16.5** now that 16.2.1 is done? regards
No additional updates are planned.
I have Lenovo G500 59-370339 laptop with , Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU, 8GB RAM, 2GB Radeon 8570 graphics card. I also have integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 on this machine. I am running Windows 8.1 - 64 bit on this laptop.
I recently tried to upgrade to AMD crimson software 16.5.1. during installation, after a minute or so my screen turned black and only mouse cursor was visible that too was flickering. I waiated for 20 minutes approximately, and after the situation remained stuck like that, I forced shut down my laptop and rebooted. After the login welcome screen, my screen remained black with mouse cursor that appears and disappears while moving.
Now I have restored my system to an earlier state but I still want to update to 16.5.1 version. What should I do? I also tried installation of updated crimson software again but failed after having the same problem.
I also searched for updated graphics drivers for intel via device manager but it said that my drivers are up to date.

First...you must go to Windows Update, change settings to " Give me recommended updates the same as optional updates"...which include the .netframework and C++ upgrades. This must be done before attempting to install AMD drivers.
Your laptop is equipped with switchable graphics. In order to update the AMD driver, the Intel graphics should be the current version. Go to this Intel link and use the Intel Driver Update Utility to find the latest graphics driver for your laptop. Download and save it to your desktop.
Download these AMD drivers to your desktop > http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows 8.1 - 64
Now delete the Intel drivers from your computer using 'uninstall a program' in the computer control panel.
Uninstall the AMD drivers from your computer using the 'uninstall a program' in the computer control panel.
NOTICE IMPORTANT AMD DRIVER UNINSTALL:******
******Computers with Intel processors select 'express' uninstall all AMD software including the install manager.
******Computers with AMD processors custom uninstall the AMD graphics driver and Catalyst Control Panel only.
Note: All anti-malware/anti-virus/anti-anything should be disabled during driver installation.
Install the Intel drivers...reboot
Install the AMD drivers...reboot
I downloaded Crimson Edition 18.104.22.168 Hotfix . I guess you have given me wrong links. I have 64 bit windows 8.1 and you gave me link of 32 bit crimson software. I downloaded it and ran it, got the message
"Setup has determined that te operating system in use is not a 32bit OS and as this setup is intended for 32bit systems only. setup will now exit. "
Please give me link for compatible version of crimson software
Thanks for this link. However, before you replied, I hunted for the latest hotfix and downloaded from this link.
I cross checked from your link and the file seems to be the same.

The problem is fixed now. I did clean uninstall of both my intel and AMD drivers and proceeded with driver installation as you said. My laptop is working fine now and the software that used to depend on AMD radeon graphics is also working perfectly.
However, I have another requirement now.
Earlier, I used to have AMD catalyst installed. When I installed Radeon Crimson software in April end, (before this 16 may hotfix was released), "AMD catalyst switchable graphics window" used to open when I used to click "radeon additional settings" . There I could force any software to use my AMD graphics card instead of "intel integrated graphics". Now that I did a clean install of latest Radeon Crimson software, I lost that option.
When I click on radeon addtional settings, I get a screen telling me that my software is up to date. How can I get the options for graphic acceleration settings for various software installed on my PC?
