An error message trying to access settings

I have a problem where games detect the built-in graphics card (intel) instead of the AMD graphics card I have (which is listed on system information as AMD Radeon R7 200 series).

I have installed the latest drivers to handle this problem but I believe there is some problem - when I try to access the settings (via the "Radeon settings") I get the following message: "radeon settings are currently not available. please try again after connecting amd graphics" (which seems to link to my original problem..).

I have tried to use the auto-detection tool as well  but that tool claimed all the latest drives are installed on my computer.

I am using a PC (not a laptop), and I am running a 64bit edition of Windows 10.
