Amdconfig command tells me to try aticonfig instead

    zvezdaburya

Installed drivers (RN 15.9) for my videocard (HD6950) in Ubuntu (14.04 LTS)

Installation went smoothly after struggling with some libraries. Rebooted, and ran $ sudo amdconfig -initial as specified in the installer notes for linux. The output was as follows

No layout section was found in the file: '/etc/X11/xorg.conf'.

Please run 'aticonfig --initial' first or modify your configuration file manually and run aticonfig again.

      amdconfig: parsing the command-line failed.

Running $ sudo aticonfig --initial puts out

      Found fglrx primary device section

      Using /etc/X11/xorg.conf

      Saving back-up to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.fglrx-3

And running the amdconfig -initial command again gives the same output as before.

So I am kinda stumped, is this normal? or does it not matter? The commands for checking if the driver install was successful was all fine as far as i could tell and the catalyst control center seems to be working normally so far.
