My Avast anti-virus says that it cannot scan cimmanifest.exe/>INSDIR/manifest.xml because it is a decompression bomb. What is going on? What would happen if I deleted that file?
It's not a bit odd..happens all the time. Especially with Norton, McAfee, and Avast.
Disable AV or add it to exceptions list. Its fine, Avast needs updating probably.
You shouldn't need the files in the pre driver install unpack location. So that whole folder could be deleted if you wanted.
Just make sure you only delete stuff from the unpack folder and not whats in use by the post driver install, check the location of the file its moaning about.
From the Avast forums:
Decompression bomb just means the files/archives/SFX get unpacked into unreasonably large file. Though it's not impossible that avast! is detecting something wrong...
Thank you all! Tomtalk, you were right about no problem from deleting the files. Problem solved!
