How to disable changing brightness based on screen content (Vari-bright)?

Whenever, the screen displays large amounts of black/dark colors, the screen dims. When there are lighter colors on the screen, it brightens back up. This is very troublesome when I am trying to work in photoshop. I have tried looking for options to turn it off but I cannot find any.
