Describe your issue:
PC is fine for basic use until I use the AMD Auto Detect Utility. My phone is MIA at the moment, so I have included an artists rendition of the problem I see before the computer crashes to a blank, black screen. Multicolored lines jut across my screen, looks as it the screen itself is damaged. Running the AMD cleanup tool, fixes the issue, but the problem of having only the most basic video drivers remain.
I just tried switching Graphics card slots, as well as HDMI ports, to no avail. As soon as I update the drivers, my computer becomes unusable.
I now have the graphics card in the original slot, and am getting a "weak or no signal" message from my TV.
Could a crappy HDMI cable be the cause of all this? Seems far-fetched, but I'll grab a new one tomorrow, and update when I can.
6 foot cable - recently replaced - made no difference.
Now I have complete loss of signal.
Think it's a PSU issue afterall.
Certainly sounds like a PSU issue. Thanks for the update.
Replaced HDMI cable - no good
Swapped graphics card with an Identical known-working one - no good
NOW the PC fans spin (case, mobo and graphics card) but computer wont post (no beeps).
thinking it's a dying PSU behind all these shenanigans.

All is well and fixed.
Turns out the Graphics card was pooched. And in attempting to fix it, a stick of ram pooched as well.
But everything is working now, which is great. Thanks for the help gents.
Thanks for letting us know.
