Problems after upgrading to FX-8320e

not sure if this is the right place for this question but here we go...

I recently decided to upgrade my CPU from FX-4100 to FX-8320e

to improve gaming performance.

After upgrading I've had lots of problems: freezing, BSOD and rebooting.

All these happen randomly, sometimes three times in a single day or not

at all for a week. The strangest thing is that the PC never freezes or BSOD

when running a resource intensive game.

The PC ran fine with the old CPU.

The probability of the crashes seem to be higher

if a web browser is open (Firefox or Chrome), especially

when YouTube is open.

PC specs:

CPU: FX-8320e

CPU cooler: Cooler Master 212 EVO

Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M LE (BIOS 1601)

GPU: Asus R9 280 (Crimson 16.1)

PSU: Antec 620W

Memory: 8 GB Kingston HyperX

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB

HDD: Seagate 1 TB

So far I have:

- Reinstalled Windows

- Ran Memtest86+ (4 Passes)

- Reinstalled all drivers

- Reinstalled the CPU

- Checked that all cables are properly connected inside the PC

- Loaded Default BIOS settings

Yet the problems don't seem to go away... What is wrong with my PC?

I can upload some recent BSOD .dmp files if necessary.

Any help is appreciated!
