Driver signature couldn't be verified - Win7 x64

Question asked by alxx on Feb 2, 2016

Hi, I'm using a laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 graphics card and to play recent games I need the latest drivers from the ones I was using so I went to the driver download page, filled in my specs and it gave me the drivers (to make sure I also ran the auto detect utility and it gave me the same results).

First problem is, when installing the drivers windows tells me that it requires a digitally signed driver (doesn't give an option to install anyway) but I got around that by typing Bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks ON on the command prompt. But what that won't help me with, is loading the driver at boot.

I can confirm that the driver works on the PC and the only way to get it to run is to mash F8 every time Windows boots and disable driver signature enforcement which is 1. a massive nuisance 2. a serious security risk.

If you're wondering what happens if I don't disable driver signature enforcement, it's obvious, Windows just uses the Standard VGA Driver.

Thanks for your time.
