AVG blocking Install&Windows Warnings

Question asked by bigrev23 on Jan 21, 2016

I have been having trouble installing the Crimson Suite on my Windows PC. I have Windows 8.1Pro Intel Core i7-4770K CPU @3.50Ghz, 16.0GB RAM and AMD Radeon R9 200 series. When Catalyst Control Centre was changed to Crimson a few things have happened.

1. Windows comes up with a message that the app won't run and may damage my PC.

2. I have to turn off AVG protection to even install the package otherwise the install just freezes.

3. I installed it anyway and after the reboot AVG gave me the message in the pic attached. I could do nothing until I removed the items AVG was warning me about.

I also had a Windows message early in the week saying it wouldn't run the app as it was"16 bit"- but I checked and had the right software download. I noticed someone else here with that problem too. See link.

Unsupported 16 bit application - Radeon Settings

I'm guessing this started about a month ago possibly after the last Windows update.

Thanks in advance for any advice or help.
