Hey AMD community. This is sort of a bug report and a warning for others.

I've been having serious issues with the AMD crimson drivers, specifically relating to fan control.

I've recently discovered (near the end of a 5 hour gaming session, when I took me headphones off) that my temperatures are skyrocketing during gameplay, but the fan wasn't spinning up other than in short bursts, which do very little to control the temperature. Temps were hitting ~95 degrees C, and staying there.

I'm worried these sustained high temperatures may have damaged my card, as my display has locked up several times(audio ect works) in the past two days,.

I tried installing trixx, and it fixed my fan RPM's (w/ custom fan curves), but now trixx makes my PC freeze as soon as the client starts.

I'm now in the process of installing the CCC drivers now.

So, just as a word of advice:

AS OF JAN 2016, IT'S PROBABLY A GOOD IDEA NOT TO INSTALL CRIMSON DRIVERS FOR THE SAPPHIRE HD78780 OC EDITION, UNTIL THEY'VE BEEN UPDATED.
