Can I get help with this error. "AMD Driver has stopped responding but has succesfully recovered."

I get the AMD Driver has stopped responding but has successfully recovered" error primarily while I'm gaming. It does not fully recover and it locks the computer up.  I've downloaded the latest drivers for my GPU several days ago and it the error returned today though I don't think it ever wholly went away. Tonight, the last time it did it I got a Direct X error associated with it. It did it three times to me tonight. The Direct X error occurred on the last event.
