When will AMD Crimson add more features from the now defunct RadeonPro? I REQUIRE the Flip Queue Size option to run games without microstutter on my two AMD gpus.
I'll pass the feedback along, thanks.
I believe you can tweak that setting used a program called Radeon Mod, however AMD cannot provide any support regarding this.
Radeon Pro is not/was not a AMD program...and as you know, the developer hasn't done much with it in a few years. They say he went to work for Raptr.
Yes, I know that. And John Mautari is working for Raptr, but Raptr is working with AMD on the Gaming Evolved App. Anyway, I've noticed over the years that AMD has added more and more features from RadeonPro to CCC and now Crimson. The last option I feel is necessary is Flip Queue Size, since many games will microstutter in Crossfire without changing the setting.
Thank you for the tip on Radeon Mod. I see that Crimson automatically handles Flip Queue Size, but the fact you can't manually adjust it is a huge issue for those of us with Crossfire. All other settings in Crimson does not affect microstutter at all, only Flip Queue Size in RadeonPro. If that were added to Crimson, I and many other Crossfire users would never need another 3rd party program again for our AMD cards (except sweetfx and reshade, but that's different) I have two reference design R9 290s by the way. And I get microstutter in Warframe, Witcher 3, and a number of other games (FPS doesn't drop according to various overlays, it's just standard microstutter)
Another glaring shortcoming (that I can't find) is hotkeys to change presets. HELP!
I don't recommend hotkeys for Crimson settings, even though CCC had it. I think it caused too many issues since, well, you're changing settings on the fly and it could cause game/system instability depending on what programs you're running at the time. I mean, hotkeys just make it faster and easier to change your settings, it's not like Flip Queue Size, where you cannot change it at all and are screwed unless you use another program.
Oh, and there are no hotkeys for Crimson (that I'm aware of). Sorry.
That Radeon Mod is a nice program
