I would like to overclock my new amd cpu to 4.5 ghz but i keep getting iqrl not equal error.
EVGA 80+ Bronze 600 watts
MSI 970 gaming MOBO
Nvidia gta 660 graphics card
Corsair h75 water cooler
Really horrid motherboard to overclock on. Low end chipset, 80% of the product description focuses on the audio and LAN, and there's no guarantee you will achieve 4.5ghz. I highly suggest you carefully read some of the overclocking for beginners guides first.
ehh that mobo is not bad to oc on , the llc is just ok but for a budget mobo still sports an ok 8 x 2 power phase , have several friends running this mobo and 8350/8370 and have their clocks at 4.7-5ghz . you really need to watch oc videos and understand what you're doing before doing so .
amd being the awesome company they are have made a program that makes first time oc an easy thing , after you install this http://download.amd.com/Desktop/aod_setup_4.3.1.0698.exe make sure to open task manager and disable on start up incase you go to far .
or you can simply search amd overdrive in the search box here on amd website
I've got my 8350 to 4.5Ghz on a m5a78l-m/usb3.
Yeah it has a 780g chipset... lol...
I did add heatsinks to the vrm, but it only has a 4 + 1 power phase. Unless you lost the lottery, you should be able to get 4.4ghz at stock voltage. For me it was 1.344v... You're board is fine for a mild overclock like 4.5ghz. What voltage are you running? Are you turning cool n quiet off and c6 off? What about llc?
