R9 390 doesn't work through HDMI to VGA adapter

Hi, guys.

I've recently bought a Sapphire Nitro R9 390 Tri-X (backplate edition). and was pretty much surprised that every video output port it has was a digital port, including DVI, which is a DVI-D (Dual link) actually, not a usual DVI-I. But the problem is my monitor is VGA only. So I've bought this HDMI to VGA adapter - http://www.nix.ru/autocatalog/vga_converters/189956_2312_draft_large.jpg. (Vcom CG558) Tested it on old Radeon 6950 - works perfectly. After that I've uninstalled old drivers, replaced videocard with new R9 390, rebooted the system and - nothing. No signal detected. Then I've tested it on a TV connected by HDMI cable - everything works as intended.

And now I don't understand what is the problem.

Why HDMI to VGA adapter works well on Radeon 6950 and doesn't work on R9 390 ?

Can you help me ?
