background replaced by bluescreen with dots

Periodically my screen background disappears except for a narrow strip at the top of the screen that is about 1/3 of the screen wide. The rest of the screen will be blue with a grid of little dots covering it. It looks almost like a drawing grid! Sometimes the blue screen/dots goes away, sometimes is stays until a restart. A screenshot is attached.blue-with-dots.png

Note that I only took a picture of the grid. The icons, etc., are all there.

I checked the drivers and all is updated. Details are:

Windows 10

AMD Quad-Core A6-3650

AMD Radeon HD  6530D

Any idea what is wrong? Do you think it is the Radeon?

Thanks!

Roger
