    total available system memory bug

    rflulling

The question: 22MB. Is this at any time normal to see, a small value on Total Available System Memory? Why would I not see accurate values? (see posted image 1)

The Background: I installed this card to replace a Sapphire ATI HD4560. It was a nice card but with 512MB DDR3, it was time for a upgrade. This is a XFX ATI R7-260X with 2GB GDDR5. I figured this would be a great update, at the very least push my slightly older PCI-E bus to the max of it's abilities. First bug was the typical lag reported by so many new users. Turned out out it was something in Catalyst, because once the driver was installed I found I could easy remove catalyst leaving the driver intact and functional. The system performed great after that, no more lag. Games like Ghost Recon Online for sure saw a boost, no problem. At that point I never game the card another thought. Never suspected something was odd.

Few days ago now, looking to see to see if there was a way to split my screen in windows without reinstalling catalyst. I noticed memory readings were strange.

Just updated to the new Crimson Driver. No more Catalyst garbage. Seems pretty well integrated too. Finally. Good Job Dev team!
But bug remains. No explanations given as to why there is so little Graphics memory on a 2GB card, without any active software than the OS itself.
-Nope spoke to see Catalyst is still there, hidden. But at least it is behaving itself.
