Doesn't AMD support all DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapters?

Hi, I've noticed that in some threads a DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 Adapter from Club3D is being promoted to pass 4K from AMD graphic cards to 4K TV/monitors. The problem is, this item is not on sale yet.

In germany we sell a similar adapter already, which was tested succesfully with a NVIDIA 4k-card to pass 4K@60Hz (DP -> HDMI): Ultra HDTV 4K DisplayPort auf HDMI Adapter-Kabel | HDMI: Amazon.de: Elektronik .

However, several clients now report, that this adapter is not working with AMD cards such as R9 390 whith curret drivers, in which release notes you can read 4K@60Hz works, but only with "certified adapters".

I'm now wondering how it's possible that an adapter, that is technically capable of 4K/60Hz does not work with AMD graphics card. Could you please tell me if this can be true and if yes, if/what we could do to make this work?
