crimson driver hardware damage

Question asked by tyderian on Dec 18, 2015

So I had the misfortune of getting in early on the AMD Crimson drivers several weeks ago.

Ever since then I've been getting red speckles/dots all over the screen during video playback or when in games... I thought it was a bad driver.

Uninstalled crimson... rolled back... didn't fix the problem...

Installed newer beta drivers... still a problem..

Complain to a friend and he tells me it's probably permanent damage from installing the early versions of the Crimson driver...  Quick google and it turns out the problem is pretty widespread...

What is AMD doing about this?

My card isn't dead but it's obviously damaged now....  Is AMD going to help those affected?
