Trying to play world of warships and the game keeps crashing tells video card stopped working then recovered. Please help me out
Did you upgrade to Windows 10 or upgrade then do a clean install? Just if you upgraded its possible you still have bits of old drivers laying around. Uninstalling or just updating drivers can cause problems. If you think it could be this please follow this guide.
The important bit here is to use DDU in safemode, this will wipe AMD totally off your laptop, and then when its done and you reboot back into normal Windows to make sure you don't connect to the internet until you have installed Crimson Beta as Windows 10 will install something else while or before you have done Crimson.
I have a suspicion its that but unsure of how you have updated drivers until now. Hope this help, post back your findings.
New wrinkle It crashed went to a black screen then cam back pixelated with blue yellow red and purple swaths randomly on the screen
Whats the OS and driver your currently using? What OS came with your laptop?
It started with windows 7 after updating everything did not fix it I downloaded windows 10 but still having the problem
Okay, so we can try a few things.
First would be to disable crossfire and see if the issue is still happening. At least to see if its happening as much as before.
Next if you can check your Event Viewer to see what part of the driver is crashing. Then if we can check your temps while playing, I guess you have had that laptop for a little while right?
How long has this Display Driver issue been happening? It might be time for a dusting, if the temps are high.
Ok I will try disabling the crossfire I have not tried that. I have opened up the laptop and cleaned all the fans but still having the issue. It started about 3 weeks ago.
Crossfire did not help. Temps looked good but usage was up to 99%
I did everything as instructed it is still having the same issue
The only thing left I can think of its trying to workout exactly what it is that's crashing. Click Start > type Event Viewer > Windows Logs and its either Application on System. Find something display related, might come up with ati in the log. Then go from there, google it with crash. See what anyone else has don't to resolve it.
I get Display Driver crashes but rarely, not sure why but its not game breaking for me unless I'm pushing my GPU really hard.
You might even be able to turn down the power usage in crimson to -20%, see if this eases things if your GPUs are tired/capacitors going. But laptop GPUs generally are more expensive, smaller and better made so shouldn't necessarily be that.
Try the event log, if anything come up ill be happy to check if you want to post the problem part of the driver.
Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered
Was the event in the log
I'm starting to run out of ideas.
Considering this has happened for a little while. What if you clock down you Memory or Core by 100mhz? It sound to me like they are on their way out. Normally that is caused by a bad overclock. But doubt your overclocking on a laptop. I doubt you have changed the GPU bios in any way?
Try the clock thing in crimson.
No I have not messed with it. I have not overclocked it at all never needed to the code I get is the following windows event id 4101 locale id 1033. what is the best way to clock it down?
Thanks again for all the help I appreciate it.
Literally like that, but in global settings. Knock down the GPU Clock by about 50, then the Memory Clock by 25, try your 3D intensive thing again. knock it down by the same amount again. I wouldn't go further down than 100mhz in total.
I had the same errors but not for a while, I was pushing my clock too far up. Doing this will slow down your cards but slightly and being Crossfire isn't so much a performance hit.
I hope this one works out.
I went through the driver process again and tuned it down it is stable now thanks a lot. all the help has been great
Boom! That's great news. No problem Tony.
