eyefinity - multi resolutions - multi screen size

Question asked by runzwivscissorz on Dec 4, 2015

So I'm hoping someone can assist with this or possibly AMD can work it into Eyefinity some how....

Using a crude Grid Pattern as my screen background and calculating (with a tape measure) the Exact (or as close as I could get it) "display" height of each screen I was able to calculate that for the largest height screen (left) I could set to 1920x1080. with the Ultra wide in the middle being lower height I would need to make the DPI to 2560x1018 (this was as close as I could get it) and finally the right screen beeing 2mm shorter than the left 24" I would need the resolution to be 1920x1072..... this way the grid matched up across all screens and as per the screen shot (image 1) if a Window was half on 2 screens you wouldnt get the whole staggered screen or differing size issue..... so it works, yay!!!....... but.... if you try and then set this up as an eyefinity single display you get Staggered lines/boxes and differing sizes as you move from one screen to the next (see further images)

So My set up is as follows.

Radeon Software Version - 15.11

Radeon Software Edition - Crimson

Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon R9 200 Series

Memory Size - 4096 MB

Memory Type - GDDR5

Core Clock - 947 MHz

Windows Version - Windows 7 (Service Pack 1)

System Memory - 16 GB

CPU Type - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz

Central Screen is LG 29EA73-P (29" Ultra Wide 21:9) 284mm viewable height set 1018

Left screen is an Older LG E2442 (24" 16:9) 301mm viewable height set at 1080

Right Screen is LG 24MP57VQ-P (24" 16:9)  299mm viewable height set 1072

Image 1 shows the three screens lining up pretty spot on as seperate desktops

Following images show that when trying to Create 1 desktop through eyefinity it defaults all the displays to 1080 height and because they are different sized screens it doesnt match up. You cannot adjust the resolutions seperately once they become one desktop. if anyone can find a way round this or suggest a remedy that would be awesomeness-ness to the power of 3 !!!!

Once in Eyefinity mode, you are nota ble to set customer resolutions as below
