Excellent question...I'm not certain that a driver which does not support screen resolution switching from its interface would even pass WHQL testing. At least, to my knowledge there has never been a WHQL driver that did not allow for end-user resolution switching. Something's definitely wrong somewhere. AMD's silence on the lack of common resolution switching in Crimson is deafening. It's like they decided to drop 32-bit color support and then didn't tell anyone, as if it would be unnoticed...;) Was hard to imagine AMD ever doing this prior to Crimson.
