Hi, I need to replace my old CPU and motherboard and a friend reckons an A10 APU might be a good plan but I'm not convinced it'll work in dual graphics with my existing HD 7870. He says the new drivers will allow it but won't it just either slow the GDDR5 ram on my card or disable the on board GPU on the A10? I just want to get the computer working again without spending too much as I'll probably build a new system in the not too distant future and I already have 16gb of DDR3 that isn't too old.
Thanks for the help and recommendations are welcome!
You can build an inexpensive FM2+ system with the Athlon 850K or 860K and use your HD 7870 and RAM. The 860K lacks a GPU component, but you can't use Dual Graphics with a 7870 anyway, and the resulting setup is more powerful than you think.
