Crimson drivers "installed" but not used

Have tried to install the Crimson drivers, but whilst the installer states that everything has been installed (there is no prompt to restart the machine though), a manual restart finds that the previous version drivers are in use and nothing has been updated (including Gaming Evolved).

So manually uninstall everything AMD related (and use the driver cleaning utility too), re-install Crimson and... nothing is being used : The drivers used are Microsoft's basic ones; the updated AMD Revolution is not installed and nothing appears to have been updated...

I'm going to try the beta Crimson drivers, but I have a feeling that is going to be the same.

I'm using Windows 10.1

All in all, it appears to be a badly designed system - whether someone forgot to add something to the installer or some parts of the drivers are missing, it does show a lack of quality control.
