Basically as title states. I know that driver installation was included in the new AMD update, but now none of my 3.0 ports are connecting to any device. I am running Win10, r9 270x, and gigabyte 78-lmt mobo. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is that a AMD Motherboard?
If so I had a similar problem with my Asus Sabertooth 990FX. I uninstalled the Crimson Driver and reinstalled due to a different problem. On reinstall of the Crimson Driver I noted that the driver did not detect the AHCI or USB drivers on my motherboard. I installed amd-catalyst-15.7-sb-sata-ahci-win10-win8.1-win7 South Bridge drivers It detected the missing drivers, and it solved my problem with the USB.
Out of curiosity I re-ran the Crimson drivers afterwards and tried a in place update and it said all the drivers are current.
If you have a AMD motherboard, give it a shot and see if it works for you.
AMD Chipset, AHCI, USB 3.0 and RAID Drivers
I find the Crimson AMD Chipset, AHCI, USB 3.0 and RAID Drivers do not detect my hardware.
I had to use Detail AMD Chipset Drivers 15.7.1 on my Sabertooth 990FX to get around the issue.
I then ran the AMD Crimson Chipset, AHCI, USB 3.0 and RAID Drivers, They detected my drivers, with the previous drivers installed and told me the drivers are up to date.
So following your re-installation of 15.7.1 drivers, did you upgrade to crimson with full success?
So to Clarify:
The Crimson chipset drivers did not detect my USB or AHCI on my 990FX.I reinstalled the 15.7.1 south bridge chipset drivers, and I had functionality back.
I attempted a inplace install of the Crimson chipset drivers again and they reported all the drivers were up to date.
I should also mention some people have said setting Disabled XHCI handoff in bios, fixed it for them. I do not have that setting, The only setting in the Asus Bios that is similar is the EHCI Hand off Disabled.
I managed to install the Crimson Drivers, but I'm still having significant problems with them.
