Windows can't display 1920x1080 resolution. Why?

Question asked by theghostman on Nov 25, 2015

For some reason after installing AMD Radeon Crimson Software, even after checking off the EDID to set the maximum resolution to 1920x1080 and 70hz, Windows is not saving the custom maximum resolution on the drop down list. My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 2233 and prior to installing Radeon Crimson, the custom maximum resolution was working without any issues when using the Catalyst Control Center. My graphics card is a Powercolor AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB GDDR5 and I currently use the VGA ports to display the resolution. I currently have Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. What do you think the problem might be regarding this? Please let me know. Thank you. =)
