The install program for the new radeon crimson drivers stops responding and won't install. Need help.
No problems like that...give some more information about your computer...like what graphics card you have. You did perform a clean install, didn't you?
Start it up, and go get some starbucks. It takes seriously forever.
There must be something else preventing a easy install for you. I installed it this morning and it didnt take very long.
Seems to be working fine on my R270X. (work pc) I'll try it on my 390X when I get home. (Gaming pc)
I left it running, and it managed to reach 16% after about 20 minutes
same here, it took me 20 minutes to install (first 4-5 min on 2%, 5-6 min on 16%, another 5-6 on 33, and after that it finishes around 20 min.4790K @ 4.6, 16GB, 290X Tri-X, Win10 64 bit.
I have the same problem... Did you fix it?
I have the same problem, it stucks at 2% and thats it
Intel 4770K, and 390PCS+ card
Uninstalled previous driver, did a DDU remove in safe mode, tried everything it freezes and stops.
Did you disable all your anti-virus/anti-malware/ anti- anything while downloading and installing the drivers?
I kinda fixed it... I didn't do nothing. I started the installer, waited for 20 minutes and then the driver unstucked automatically...
UPDATE : The installation has progressed after waiting for really long, it just takes time, I guess ?
Same problem here, tried using DDU, but no luck. Have you come accross a fix ?
yes, after a long time (for me 20 min) it finishes
mine just made the screen go black and freeze for 2 hours. just reset... still no luck
* I'm having the same issue, why is this complicated to install / extract drivers into a folder?
Windows *Stops Responding, could it be a Windows Desktop theme that is causing this? Or could it be my HDTV display settings?
*This has been an issue with numerous other users in other forums, 16% freezes, 2% freezes etc, same numbers on certain systems.
* I am going to wait for a response with my Ticket I sent to AMD and see if there's a Registry driver that could be causing issues.
*Waiting shouldn't be a solution, as most systems installed within 5 minutes etc...could it be Steam games?...I might try removing my HDD with games on them possibly and see if this allows the install to process properly.
Can you solved the problem? My screen goes black at 2% and one time at 19% but the PC freeze and the screen goes black and nothing work :/. Any ideas?
Please temporarily disconnect your internet connection and run the installer.
It didn't work either, i don't know what to do anymore. Any other suggestion? Keep freezen my PC, even if is a clean instalation of windows.
Did you disable all your anti-virus/anti-malware/ anti- anything while downloading and installing the drivers as suggested?
Yes i did, i disable windows defender, firewall, etc. Only windows stuff cause is a clean windows 10, i have nothing intalled yet.
Are you definitely trying to install Crimson version 15.30.1025 and not the original Crimson release?
Both install and uninstall are same. It took a long time ( about more 10 mins ) to finish task. When the bar was at 2% >>>> Not responding , I can ensure that it still works but SLOWWWW.
After install, I got MSVCP120.dll is missed or not found even though it was still in system32 folder ( and I didn't have trouble before, my PC worked as well ).
MY system: FX 8350, R9 290X, 16GB ram.
I had the 2% issue as well, I disabled avg my anti-virus, and boom installed in 5 min. It's been a common issue with some antivirus causing issues with the install process just disable all your anti-virus and that should do the trick.
Had the same problem. I temporarily disabled AVG and the install took literally 9 seconds from start to finish. (FX-8350 4ghz, 16GB RAM, SSD)

yes ive done everything that people posted on this post
i even had a guy link me a program which unistalls all amd things
Yes, when I disabled my antivirus app, it was installed quickly... but why the hell do I have to disable it? Sure, next time I open my firewall, or add it to my antivirus exeptions? These drivers HAS TO work well with enabled antivir apps. Period... I dont want to expose my computer for any possible harm just by installing an official driver.
FYI: I never had to disable my antivirus app for installing an amd driver in the past.
To clarify, this is only temporarily during driver installation. Once the driver is installed, it is safe to re-enable the antivirus.
I'm aware of that, but you shouldn't have to disable it in any reasons.
In a perfect world, I'd agree with you. Sadly, we don't live in one.
The same thing is recommended for Nvidia driver installation:
"If you have an anti-virus program or other system monitoring utility running in the background, please disable these temporarily as they may interfere with the installation of your display driver."
Guide on how to install the NVIDIA Display Driver under Windows 7/Windows 8
Intel has the same message....
you dont have to be in a perfect world for this... AMD was there a month ago... All pre-crimson drivers were able to installed without disabling the antivirus software. Never had to disable it, nor with nvidia, nor with amd drivers.
Did you get the drivers installed or not? Why did you ask for help? Next time do it your way.
With my way (antivir on, as always in the last 6-7 years when I installed my amd driver to one of my amd vga), yes(ish), after 60 min of installing time. With NOT my way (antivir off), it managed to install in seconds. I sincerely hope the next driver will be able to be installed with antivir on again... You can evade so much confusion and bad rep with such things like this.
i have the same issue as everyone else execpt my installation doesnt just stop responding, it just makes me close the program saying a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is a avaible
