yesterday I bought a MSI 970A-G43 motherboard. nothing fancy, wanted to fix the old M4A77D box and modernize
I like that MSI uses the SB950 which has more bandwidth to support 6 SATA ports and a swarm of USB ports, and there is a USB 3.0 chip on the board too
curios, some video showed using 2 CFX cables to use two video cards, seems rather extreme? The board is wired for x16 and x4, rather than x8 and x8.
I viewed this board as a one card solution with solid gaming capacity, plant a good CPU and a hot video card and poof
I am using the HD 5450 which is passively cooled its so low power. The 760G boards have obsolete HD 3000 but I own the video card already and besides the AMD 970 is much more gaming friendly
I am intending to use the Athlon II X2 250 processor, the old CPU is AM2 and obsolete
I have my M5A99FX which uses the 990FX but the lower cost 970 should not be too deficient
