Dual Monitor MSI R9 280x - 1 monitor static lines

Question asked by givegp on Oct 16, 2015

Weird issue with my second monitor, it has static lines when I play games on my main monitor. It happened previously and the fix for that was to plug it into a different socket in the wall.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97-D3H-CF Motherboard

Memory:16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 (4x4 Sticks)

Storage: Western Digital WDC 2TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming 3G AMD Graphics Card - 3GB

Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Gaming Case

Power Supply: XFX 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit)

Monitors are both: BenQ GL240 24Inch with speakers

Main monitor is connected using HDMI, and second is connected using a DVI - VGA wire (My GPU only has 1 HDMI, 1 DVI and display ports)

Monitor has HDMI, DVI-D

I will be ordering a DVI wire so I can connect the second monitor that way which I have been told my dvi to VGA cable isnt that great.

If you guys know any fixes it would be great.
