HD5870 Problems

Question asked by roxoxon on Oct 9, 2015

Hey guys,

I got a quite old graphic crd and until recently I had no Problems with it.

It´s an HD5870. So I noticed that my card only works wi a 400Mhz Core Clock and a 900-1200 Mhz Memory  Clock.

I don´t know why it wont go higher. so I tried it with the AMD OverDrive but it didn´t work.

Now I downloaded the AMD GPU Clock Tool and now i´m getting the right rates

but as soon as I want to open twitch.tv or YouTube I just get a green Screen where the Video should be, my game freezes

and my Catalys Control Center crashes and restarts it´s the same thing every time.

I even formated my Computer and installed the latest divers.

The GPU is fine for me since I am only playing Counterstrike Global Offensive and Dota2, so I hope you guys can help me. :/

These are my specs:

This is my PC:

  • CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition 3.4Ghz
  • Motherboard: MSI 790FX-GD70
  • RAM: 2x 4GB OCZ3GG1333LV4G DDR3-1333 / PC3-10600
  • SSD: Samsung SSD840 Evo
  • GPU: AMD Radeon HD5870 1GB/GDDR5
  • PSU: OCZ 600W (OCZ600MXSP)

Thanks in advance,
